Forestry Assistance Program
Are you a private forest owner wanting to know more about the management of your property for forest products, wildlife, recreation, aesthetics, tax and cost-share incentives and overall forest health? Contact Conservation District Forester Nia Becker for a free onsite assessment.
If you own 20+ Acres of non-homestead forestland, you may be eligible to reduce your property taxes! The Qualified Forest Program will reduce the land taxes as well as prevent the uncapping of the land’s taxable value. To enroll you must have and follow a forest management plan written by a qualified forester. If you are interested in these programs or services, Contact the Clare Conservation District at (989) 539-6401, email our forester nia.becker@macd.org or visit our website at ClareCD.org or Michigan.gov/QFP
Help for Substance Abuse
Based on conversations we have had with communities across the US, the vast majority of people who need treatment for substance abuse do not seek it. Though there are many barriers that hinder people from getting the help they need, awareness is a significant factor. This can be in the form of lack of recognition or just not knowing the available avenues for help. So, we created a comprehensive set of guides that provide information on many of the prevailing substance abuses that are affecting our communities today, various care options, and many free resources.
